The world (my immune system) is against us

What's up blog. I got sick.

I feel so so bad because my group was really relying on me to lock in and focus on this project after coming back from my TV competition, but then the illness struck and I haven't been able to communicate super well with my group having missed out on multiple class days. Our group is super great, but I've noticed that when we're not all together, nothing becomes concrete as we're waiting for the approval of another who isn't there at the moment. Last year, I worked with only one other partner so the communication was very direct, however admittedly, it's easy to run from responsibility in a group setting, hoping the others can pick up the slack. I blame myself in that aspect, but I don't want to be so critical at myself for falling behind on this project as I was literally trying not to get pneumonia.

This was literally me by the way.

At this point however, I'm realizing we only have one week left to work on this project before spring break... and this is where our team communication failed. I had no clue M was traveling during break and J had no idea either of us were leaving, having imagined that we would be using the break to film and edit. I quite literally would be out for every single day of the break and also without internet for most of it (travelling to visit family in Colombia) which will be very nice to disconnect, but horrible for the sake of the project. We want to try to film something next week, maybe at least to get some teaser clips for social media done (?) but to be honest, with our script not being finalized I don't think we're ready to start filming. I also texted Lynda to see what her availability is for filming and the following week is super busy for her as it's the end of the quarter (and frankly super busy for us too). We still haven't locked in a second actor either and at this point it might have to be me or M.

Conclusion, I'm going to return to school as soon as the doctors clear me and in the meantime my group is going to continue developing the social media. J is thankfully taking a lead on writing the script using Celtx and hopefully the next time we meet we can finalize our storyboard.
