ALAS! THE SCRIPT

What's up blog. For most of this process so far, I've only briefly revealed that the story is about two girls communicating through a bathroom wall and that it's going to be queer. However, we have not elaborated much more than that. Today it's all sprawled out.

J shared with us the script he started working on using Celtx, a free to use script-writing software that utilizes industry standard formatting and templates, and I was able to open it up and easily make edits and changes. Mostly, I fixed some technical and grammatical stuff, but left alone some parts, saving my comments for changing the storyline on Monday. For the meantime, our characters names are Sun and Moon due to their contrasting nature (one is bright and bubbly, the other is more quiet and calm) Here's the first draft of our script (including my hand drawn watermark) :

First page- film opening, establish characters

2nd page- conflict develop
3rd page- Ending

I'm very happy that we were finally able to get it all out on the page, this puts us in a way better position to discuss what changes we want to make to the script and also create a filming schedule that suits the exact needs for all our scenes. Personally, I'm not quite sure what J means by ethereal white space but I know they're working on the storyboard to help clarify what they're imagining. I'm also not a huge fan of the ending being Moon simply putting on a pin, I think Sun needs to be involved somehow. I'll discuss this with the group and hopefully we can reflect those changes onto the storyboard (which is super important because it will be our guide during shooting and editing).
